A Reminder of What You Should Already be Doing, as Agilists

Hi,

So here is the first video. It is from the first series of our collection which is all about getting more capacity out of the team.

There are plenty of ways to do this, so in this video I will be reminding you of what you should already be doing, to boost the capacity of your team. I'll be describing how:

  • Smaller releases require less effort to manage, carry less risk and reduce interrupts and make root-cause analysis simpler.
  • Releases are like visits to the dental hygienist: The more often you go, the less painful it is. It is the same with releases. The more you do it, the easier they becomes.
  • Backlog quality, or rather lack of quality, blocks the flow within the Agile team.
  • A sense of perspective for the Agile team-members will support focus.
  • The gaps in automated business / integration test coverage can be pragmatically closed.
  • To understand the culture of external partners so that we can eliminate the time lost due to lack of transparency, culture class and ultimately, infamous "finger-pointing" and the "blame game".

All of these points, once addressed, will give all team members more capacity to build new innovative things, which is something all our stakeholders want.

So What is Next?
